Marketing: Should You Buy Logo’s on Fiverr?

All professional’s should know the value in self branding. Take it from some first hand experience; employers, employees, potential clients and even coworkers do a Google search for your name to see what comes up. The sad shame about it all is if your sh*t is wack on a Google search results page, you’ll likely lose out an the opportunity or reputable equity.

The Dilemma

For a while now, I’ve been zeroed in on rebranding and coming up with a new logo. Shout out to my fam Walter for the OG design. I love it but it’s been close to 10 years and I feel that it’s time for a new look. Here’s the problem, finding a dope designer is very hard to come by.  Then one day, I had an epiphany.

Why not try using one of those logo designers from Fiverr!

(**If you don’t know what Fiverr is; it’s a website where you can pay $5 for various services like design, marketing services, music editing, and programming.)

I figure that it’s only $5 bucks. What’s the harm in blowing a Big Mac Meal. Yea, I know that a Big Mac Meal isn’t $5 bucks anymore but you get the idiom. …don’t you?

The portfolio’s from some of these designers are pretty impecable. Peep game and see for yourself! Some of these designs had me like “Whoa, impressive.”

The Results

Allow me to be your test dummy in this experiment so you don’t bother wasting your time.

The process seemed easy enough. The designer would ask me questions like:

  • What is the text?
  • What are some sample logo’s you like?

I would provide the info and usually within 24 to 48 hours I would get a mockup. The results I received were something I can best describe as diarrhea on a wall.  I’m talking ungodly intolerable. As a matter of fact, I went through 5 different designers on Fiverr and they all spewed out trash! Check out some of the best of the worst!

Lesson Learned

After reviewing some of the more odd ball designs, I learned that these dudes just go to, pull a unique font, call it a logo and cash out on some unsuspecting victim. I wouldn’t be surprised if these dudes just Google search a logo and claim it as their own!

A few things to note. One is that old adage you get what you pay for. Fiverr logo designers are full of sh*t so don’t waste your money. Two is nothing compares to an experienced high quality designer. Sure it may cost more but it’s well worth it! I wasted a few months of trial and error on these pieces of crap.  Just take it from me and pay the extra funds. It will save you a ton of time and money. Three is I finally found a dope designer and we’re working on some new concepts. Best believe I’ll be sharing them on here. I’ll need your help to pick the right one so be on the lookout when that post shows up!

I hope you guys found this useful. If you have any more questions about the service or need a referral to someone, you know how to reach me. If you like, hate, or utterly don’t care about what I posted, please let me know. I really appreciate the feedback.
