The Fiverr Challenge: SWOT Analysis

More often than not, I receive a ton of recommendations or reviews about using Fiverr from friends, clients and colleagues. They are convinced that Fiverr is a godsend and that I should be using it more often. However, I beg to differ. My experiences with Fiverr has been completely lack luster. I even documented one experience with using Fiverr for logo design a few years ago.
It’s 2018 and I’ve decided to take a deep dive into Fiverr and give it another shot. I mean, what’s the worst that can happen? It’s just five bucks!
By the way, if you’ve been living under a rock, Fiverr is an e-commerce community of ‘specialists’ that will do work for you for $5. Services range from writing content, creating reports, creating designs and more! Take a look at some of their product offerings on Fiverr.com.
SWOT Analysis
A SWOT Analysis is a a study undertaken by an organization to identify its internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as its external opportunities and threats. All companies should be doing this to create a stronger business strategy. I decided to test the waters and do one for a client that owns a real estate school. I was curious to see the kind of reporting some of these ‘experts’ would come up with. I spent $10 on two different contractors and this is what I found.

The first dude was an executive business coach that offered to analyze the business and provide constructive feedback. He had a nice little booklet image that came with his report. He seemed legit from his post. What I got in return was GAWWWWWD AWFUL! He didn’t even bother to review the business . He just sold me his version of what a SWOT Analysis is by definition. Take a look for yourself here. This was completely useless. I could have just Googled this garbage!

The second dude wasn’t as bad. He actually put minimal effort in creating something. His answers were so damn broad that I probably could have Googled ‘SWOT for elearning‘ and came up with the same garbage. I still could not use it for jack shit but I guess he gets a point for at least trying. Check out the actual trash report here.
Final Grade: F
I honestly could have shitted out these reports on the toilet this morning. I feel totally scammed. I have a huge feeling many of the contractors on here are just as bad (if not worse). Right now Fiverr is batting 0 for 2 on my score card.
I remain optimistic though! I feel that there are some legitimate services and contractors and I (maybe) plan to go broke trying to find them! It’s going to be a grind to dig for someone good but that is the challenge. If you have someone or a service that you would like me to check/test out and review, please leave a comment below. I’ll be happy to be your test dummy and waste $5 to provide you with some legitimate feedback. Also, tell me what you think about this post and these reports. You’re comments inspire me.
’til the next post, toodles!
